Making better use of data can have a huge impact on your business. If your data activities form an integral part of your core business you could see significant benefits when making decisions or solving problems. This session will look at a range of very different examples where organisations have leveraged data in order to make transformational changes.
We are privileged to have Vicky Brock here in Inverness to introduce this session. Founder, entrepreneur and data pioneer, Vicky won Innovator of the Year at the 2014 FDM Everywoman in Technology Awards & led her company Clear Returns to be named Top Technology StartUp in Europe, by the European Commission. She is a Director Emeritus of the Digital Analytics Association and co-founded Google Analytics partner agency Highland Business Research. Named by Forbes & Bloomberg as one of the 9 top female tech CEOs to watch, she is a Tech London Advocate and one of Computer Weekly’s Top 50 Women in IT.
Craig Paterson from the DataLab will talk about how an organisation can start their journey. His task is to demystify the data science jargon, discuss case studies and explore how you start to use data to drive value. This session will look at the business justification for investment. This section is firmly aimed at business leaders and those looking to be informed and enable change.
Naomi Morrow, Lead for the Digital Catapult in the North East & Tees Valley will talk about the approach they have taken to date with organisations including large manufacturers such as Nissan to help them overcome challenges, become more efficient and increase productivity through implementing new digital processes and using their data more effectively. The Digital Catapult focusses on the growth of UK industry through digital innovation.
